The PURSUE Files: Unlocking the Pentagon’s Declassified UFO Secrets
Abhijeet Sarkar · Zenodo
Abstract
Abstract For nearly eight decades, the global narrative surrounding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) has been rigorously managed through compartmentalized intelligence, systematic redaction, and institutional denial. The historic May 8, 2026, disclosure—facilitated by the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE)—represents a watershed moment in the empirical study of anomalous aerospace platforms. Directed by the President of the United States and executed by a coalition of federal agencies including the Department of War, ODNI, NASA, and the FBI, PURSUE has dismantled traditional architectures of secrecy. This paper provides a comprehensive, critical analysis of "Release 01," examining the geopolitical, technological, and ontological implications of the 162 declassified primary source files.
